SUMMER Space CAMPS

SUMMER 2026: SOLAR ODYSSEY

Blast off into the future of human exploration!

This summer, Sol Academy lets your young explorer embark on a thrilling STEM journey through space exploration across three interconnected summer camps.

Designed for aspiring young scientists and engineers, this series builds progressively from foundational rocket science to futuristic interstellar concepts, blending hands-on experiments, simulations, and expert-led discussions to ignite curiosity about the cosmos.

Participants will explore real-world applications in physics, engineering, economics, and advanced theories, fostering critical thinking and innovation in space-related fields.

SPACE RACE

June 8 - June 18

Dive into the fundamentals of rocketry and mission planning in this STEM-intensive camp.

Campers will learn about propulsion systems, orbital mechanics, and spacecraft design through interactive builds, launch simulations, and analysis of historic and current missions.

Hands-on activities include model rocket construction and trajectory calculations, equipping participants with essential engineering skills for space exploration.

sOLAR SETTLERS

June 29 - July 9

Explore the economic frontiers of our solar system in this forward-thinking STEM camp.

Focusing on space industrialization, resource mining, and sustainable habitats, campers will delve into space economics, including cost-benefit analyses of Mars terraforming and asteroid utilization.

Through group projects and economic modeling, they'll simulate building off-world economies, blending business principles with engineering and environmental science.

INTERSTELLAR ADVENTURE

July 13 - July 23

Venture into the mind-bending realms of advanced physics for interstellar ambitions in this captivating STEM camp.

Introducing "weird" science like relativity, quantum mechanics, particle physics, and exotic propulsion concepts, campers will tackle thought experiments, simulations of black holes, and discussions on faster-than-light travel.

Students will put their study of these topics to use in working on futuristic projects, such as designing conceptual starships or modeling exoplanet colonies, sparking wonder about the universe's deepest mysteries through collaborative problem-solving and cutting-edge theoretical explorations.

Why Summer Space Camps?

  • Our camps consist of eight full days spanning two weeks, (Monday through Thursday,) packed with collaborative projects.

  • Just like in our space agency program, mixed ages work together in agency-style teams.

Older campers lead missions and mentor younger ones, building leadership and teamwork.

  • Draw from strategy simulations to make decisions about mission objectives, resource allocation, rocket design, etc.

Every calculation and prototype has a purpose—failure is just a test flight for the next iteration!

  • Kids master engineering design, physics of closed-loop systems, biology of life support (e.g., hydroponics, air recycling), chemistry of resource extraction, and math for budgeting and modeling—all while having an absolute blast!
